We follow the Come and See programme as recommended by the Diocese of Salford.
All schools in the Diocese of Salford are inspected under Section 48, approximately every 5 years. The focus of these inspections are as follows: Catholic Life and Mission; Religious Education; Collection Worship. At Christ the King, we endeavour to give our children a well-rounded RE education, with opportunities to teach all three aspects equally.
Our Gift Team support the teaching of RE within our school. They regularly lead Class Worship and Whole School Worship during Collective Worship, Assemblies and Mass.
Praise and Worship and class based Collective Worship include a variety of themes and resources to give our children a wide range of Worship opportunities. We use singing, meditation, prayer and reflection, alongside teaching and responding to scripture. We ensure the children Gather, hear the Word, Respond to the Word and then Go Forth with a clear message of how to put love into action.
Each Monday includes a whole school assembly where the children come together to join in prayer and discuss whole school themes linked to faith. Often, assemblies follow whole school themes such as CAFOD, Caritas, the birthday of the Virgin Mary or the season of Creation. These themes give structure to RE lessons and further Acts of Worship in class time and allow pupils to make cross curricular links with RE.
The Sacramental Programme takes place in Y4 and follows the Liverpool Diocese With You Always.
